Situation
Customer demand for faster turnaround required a drastic reduction in tooling lead-time.

Need
Reduce lead times to 4 weeks from order acknowledgment.

Response
PTD met with the customer to review drawing packages and develop a firm understanding of what would need to be accomplished to meet the extremely compressed lead times. After the meeting PTD committed to helping this customer meet its lead-time objectives.

Result
Reduced lead-time from 10/12 weeks to 4 weeks with a few days to spare. Beyond the lead-time issue the customer needed to rework many of the tools they were receiving from their previous tooling supplier. PTD eliminated that work by producing tools and dies that exactingly met the customer's specifications.
